If home skin products are no longer proving effective, but you don't want surgical procedures, try nonsurgical treatments to rejuvenate the skin, such as microneedling. Our team is happy to offer microneedling (collagen induction therapy) at our office in Bellevue, WA. Microneedling uses several fine-gauge needles to safely and effectively create micro-injuries in the skin. The micro-injuries prompt the body's natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients that contribute to the overall health and appearance of your complexion. Often performed with other skin treatments, like vitamin serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma), microneedling can help reduce scars, stretch marks, and pores. Schedule a consultation at Absolute Aesthetics to learn more about the results of microneedling and how to customize your procedure for your skin concerns and goals.

1. Q: What is microneedling?

A: Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds caused by the needles prompt the body to make more collagen and elastin, which heals your skin and makes you look younger. It can help reduce the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

2. Q: Is microneedling painful?

A: While microneedling involves creating tiny punctures in the skin, the pain is typically minimal because a topical anesthetic is applied beforehand to numb the skin. After the procedure, you may experience some temporary discomfort, similar to a mild sunburn.

3. Q: What is the recovery time after microneedling?

A: Microneedling is considered a minimally invasive procedure with little downtime. Many people experience redness and swelling for a few days following the treatment, but most can return to normal activities within 24 hours.

4. Q: What skin types are suitable for microneedling?

A: Microneedling is typically safe for all skin types and colors, as it doesn't involve heat like lasers do, which can affect skin pigment.

5. Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: The number of treatments needed varies depending on your individual skin concerns. However, most people need a series of three to six treatments, spaced about four to six weeks apart for optimal results.

6. Q: What are the potential side effects of microneedling?

A: Side effects are usually minor and temporary. They can include redness, swelling, and mild discomfort. However, in rare cases, people may experience more severe side effects such as bleeding, bruising, infection, or skin pigment changes.

7. Q: Can I use skincare products after microneedling?

A: Immediately after microneedling, it's best to keep the skin clean and only use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. You will be advised as to when to resume your normal skincare routine.

8. Q: Is there anyone who should not get microneedling?

A: Microneedling may not be suitable for people with certain skin conditions, like an active herpetic infection. It's also generally avoided in individuals who have a history of poor wound healing or keloid scarring.

Each microneedling treatment is tailored to your specific situation and needs. Schedule your consult today.

The Microneedling treatment is an in office procedure and begins with the application of local anesthesia or numbing cream and the treatment time for microneedling is generally around 30 – 60 minutes.

Once the microneedling is done, a treatment or a serum with a vitamin infusion, can be applied for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. A moisturizer selected for your skin type will be massaged in along with sun protection since your skin will be more sensitive after the treatment.

I am so happy. Elizabeth has been simply amazing. I've seen five different electrologists; I will never need to find a new one again. I feel valued here, as a client, as a person with real feelings and emotions. My skin is so much smoother. I feel amazing. I can't stop smiling. Being hair free has been a dream of mine that I can finally live! Just book an appointment already! You won't regret it.

Elizabeth has been amazing! She’s taking the time to educate me on all my options which I appreciate this is my first time doing anything like this? I’ve done a laser treatment so far and she got rid of several age spots on my face and chest. You can hardly see any of the sun damage that was on my chest. I’m super excited to do opus in February. So far everything has been amazing. I’m super excited. Thank you, Elizabeth.

I started seeing Elizabeth over the summer time for my laser hair removal. I had been looking for someone to do my laser for quite sometime and I didn’t know anyone, happen to meet her when I was in to meet Daniella who works in the same area. Elizabeth is extremely knowledgeable and explained how everything works (which personally I prefer) I didn’t go in with crazy expectations and was so pleasantly surprised after just the first session. Laser has changed my skin completely!! I had rarely any hair growth in my bikini area after that first session and it thinned out my hair. I haven’t had one ingrown hair since I started to laser and my skin is soft. Couldn’t be happier to continue being patient . -Denisse
